We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
Consent
We collect and use your personal information with your consent. That consent can be express, like the details you give us when you book, or implied by the situation, like handing us a device so we can repair it. You can withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits, though it may mean we can no longer provide a given service.
SMS Messaging and Mobile Information
We normally collect SMS consent verbally at the time of an in-person sale. If you agree, we collect your mobile number and may record the consent timestamp, the in-person collection source, and the disclosure or policy version provided when you consented. Providing a number through our booking form does not enroll you in SMS.
We use SMS only for a thank-you after your visit, other post-sale follow-ups, review requests, and customer-care replies from CompuTech. We do not use SMS consent as permission to message you for unrelated purposes.
We do not sell, rent, or share mobile numbers, SMS opt-in data, or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. This restriction is an explicit exception to any broader sharing permission elsewhere in this policy.
Outside disclosures required by law, we share mobile numbers and SMS consent data only with service providers needed to operate messaging. Those providers must protect the information under confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
You can withdraw SMS consent at any time by replying STOP. For help, reply HELP or contact us at info@computechfix.ca. Standard message and data rates may apply.
We retain and delete mobile information and SMS consent records under the same business, legal, and privacy practices described in the "How long we keep it" section below.
Sharing your information
We only share your information:
- With trusted providers who help us deliver a service, such as a payment processor
- When required by law or legal process
- To protect our rights, property or safety
Some of the providers we rely on, for example for bookings, payments or email, may store data on servers outside Alberta or Canada, where it can be subject to the laws of that place. We only work with providers that offer a reasonable level of protection.
Mobile numbers, SMS opt-in data, and SMS consent are subject to the stricter limits in the "SMS Messaging and Mobile Information" section above.
Data security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. No system is ever completely secure, but we treat your details with care.
If a privacy breach ever happens that creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will let you know and report it to the relevant privacy commissioner, as the law requires.
How long we keep it
We keep your personal information only as long as we need it to provide the service, meet our legal and accounting obligations, and sort out any dispute. Some records, such as invoices, we keep for as long as tax law requires. After that we securely delete or anonymize your information.
Cookies and website tracking
This website uses cookies and similar tools to keep the site working and to understand how visitors use it. That includes first-party analytics and advertising measurement: things like the pages you visit, how you found us, and whether you called or booked, used to measure our ads and improve the site. This tracking is on by default.
You can opt out at any time with the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of every page, and opt back in the same way. You can also set your browser to refuse cookies, though parts of the site may then work differently.
Your rights
You may:
- Ask to see the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct or delete it
- Withdraw your consent to marketing messages at any time
- Raise a concern about how we have handled your information
