We drive to Airdrie, not the other way round
Airdrie is on the in-home list, which means a visit is booked the same way a Calgary one is. You pick a window, we turn up with the tools, and the machine never leaves your desk unless it needs the bench. Most of what we see in Airdrie gets sorted in that one visit.
The drive is the easy part. North on Stoney or Deerfoot, up the QEII, and you're in town. That matters more than it sounds: a shop that treats Airdrie as out of area will quote you a trip charge or ask you to drive to them. We would rather come to you and keep the day simple.
The parts of town we work in
Newer builds out on the edges, Bayside, Windsong, Kings Heights, Ravenswood and Cooper's Crossing, are where most of the Wi-Fi work comes from. The older core around Big Springs and Luxstone is a different job again, usually machines that have been running fine for eight years and have finally slowed to a crawl.

Where Acers give up, from what CompuTech sees in Calgary. The Aspire range is built to a price, and the first place that shows is the hinge mount. It anchors into plastic, the plastic fatigues, and one day the corner of the lid starts lifting away from the base when you open it. From there the display cable is at risk and the repair gets more expensive.
If your Aspire has started making a cracking noise when it opens, or the bezel no longer sits flush, get it seen while it's still a hinge repair.
Nitro and Predator: heat, dust and shutdowns
Acer's gaming lines suffer the same way every gaming laptop does. Two or three years of dust in the fins, paste past its best, and a machine that throttles hard and then starts cutting out under load. It presents like a dying graphics chip and it usually isn't.
Chromebooks, and being honest about them
Acer is one of the biggest Chromebook makers, and a lot of them belong to students. They get dropped, sat on, and closed on pencils. Cracked screens, broken hinges and damaged keyboards are the standard three.
All three are repairable. Whether they're worth repairing is a real question, because a Chromebook can be inexpensive enough that a screen replacement approaches the cost of another one. We'll do the maths with you rather than quietly quoting the repair.
Storage that can't be upgraded
The cheapest Aspire, Swift and Chromebook models often use onboard eMMC storage soldered to the board instead of a proper drive. It's slow, and it stays slow, because there's nothing to replace. If yours is one of those and it has become painful to use, an upgrade won't rescue it and we'll say so instead of taking the money.
Where Acer builds to a price, and where it doesn't
Mid and upper Acer models are conventional and repair well. Screens come as bare panels on most non-touch machines, storage is standard M.2, and there's usually a memory socket. The cooling on the gaming range is designed to be opened, which is what it needs.

A mid-range Aspire with a good screen and a failing drive is worth an SSD, and the difference is dramatic. A budget Aspire on eMMC that has become unusable isn't, and we would rather tell you that on the phone than after you've paid for a diagnosis somewhere else.
